Seasons Not Over for Cowboys, Chargers

When FOX and "the worldwide leader in sports'' promote the Dallas-Minnesota game by proclaiming the loser would be doomed, we must believe it.

So the Cowboys are doomed.

Well, not necessarily.

Let's take a closer look at three of the NFL's "failing" teams, as well as one that was failing until it won big on Sunday. In the NFL, "failing" only lasts as long as next week's games.

Dallas (1-4)

So the Cowboys are dead? Yes, they keep committing penalties, giving up long returns and turning the ball over -- all mistakes that indeed doom football teams. But they also gained 511 yards from scrimmage against Tennessee and allowed just 188 to Minnesota even though they lost both, which means at least they can gain yards and prevent opponents from doing the same.
