TAMPA, Fla. -- Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris is known for his up-tempo, competitive and fiery practices, so there have been a couple times things have gotten heated under the blazing Florida sun and rookie running back LeGarrette Blount has been in the middle of the fray. That's when quarterback Josh Freeman intervenes.
"Hey, LeGarrette!" Freeman likes to shout. "Whatever you do, don't hit him!"
And he laughs.
Better yet, Blount laughs, too.
"It really doesn't bother me anymore," Blount said.
Maybe not, but for however long Blount lasts in the NFL -- and certainly well after that -- he will always be linked with it.
"He made a mistake," Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik said. "And he paid a great price for it."
