SAN FRANCISCO -- The Phillies are like a huge boulder at the top of a hill, with the Giants, all 25 of them, banding together, feet braced against the ground, holding it up.One slip, though, and they get crushed.
There is little margin for error in beating the Phillies, as they have shown throughout this postseason. The Giants need to be perfect on defense to win, and in the two games they have lost in the NLCS, they have made a few critical, costly mistakes.
"We made a couple mistakes, and they made us pay," Cody Ross said after the Giants' 4-2 Game 5 loss on Thursday night. "Bad teams don't, and good teams do, and they're a really good team."
