A week after Texas upset Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb., the seemingly resurgent Longhorns couldn't top Iowa State in their own home.The Cyclones ran roughshod over the Longhorns, opening up a 28-6 lead with 12:47 left in the fourth quarter. Texas made them sweat out the result, but Iowa State held on to score its first win in a series Texas previously led 7-0 overall.
The Longhorns had been 4-0 in Austin and put a 56-3 victory in Ames, Iowa in 2007, the last time the two teams met.
Texas lost its previous home game to UCLA 34-12. This is the first time since 1997 that Texas has lost consecutive home games.
