Joe Girardi will remain the manager of the Yankees after reportedly agreeing to a three-year deal with the team. According to reports, the deal is worth $9 million and could be announced Thursday.Despite some speculation that Girardi could have left New York to take over the Cubs, as well as harsh criticism lobbied at Girardi for his management style in the postseason, his future was never in much doubt. Both Girardi and the Yankees expressed interest in getting a deal done quickly after the Yankees were eliminated in the ALCS.
The new contract gives Girardi a bump from his last deal, which totaled $7.5 million over three years.
