Could Magic Johnson bring the NFL to Los Angeles? If he has his druthers, it could be so.
The NBA Hall of Famer told the Los Angeles Times that he would be interested in bringing an NFL team back to the city, saying he "really, really wants the NFL to come back to L.A.," but has not yet talked to the league.
Johnson recently sold his minority ownership stake in the Lakers, and followed that up by moving 105 Starbucks franchises -- a pair of moves that freed up considerable finances.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Johnson owned a 4.5 percent stake in the Lakers, and sold his shares for an estimated $27 million. He sold the franchises back to Starbucks for a reported $75 million.
The timing of the sales prompted much speculation about Johnson's future moves, and it appears FanHouse's Tom Ziller was on to something when he wondered if Magic could be the man to bring football back to LA.
