Vince Young Leaves MNF Game With Sprained Knee

Vince YoungJACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tennessee quarterback Vince Young left Monday night's game in the first quarter with a sprained left knee and ankle. He did not return to the game. Tennessee went on to win, 30-3, with Kerry Collins taking the snaps.

"Gone for the season," was how Young described his initial thoughts. "Thought it was going to be worse, but I feel OK now."

But Young could have returned to the game, though he would have been relegated to playing in the shotgun only.

"We have we a healthy quarterback and one who has no mobility and is sore," Titans coach Jeff Fisher said. "Not a difficult decision at all."

Collins went on to complete 11 of 16 passes for 110 yards, including a 2-yard touchdown pass to Bo Scaife. He finished with a passer rating of 108.9.

"I take the approach I always have," Collins said. "Prepare as hard as I can all week and get ready just in case."

Young was injured when he fumbled a snap at his 20-yard line, bent down and picked up the ball, and in the process of being tackled, had his left leg bent awkwardly backward.

It took several minutes before Young was helped to his feet and assisted off the field. About halfway to the sidelines, Young finished the stroll on his own.

ESPN cameras showed Young crossing himself as trainers examined him.

"Gotta pray, man," he said. "That's a must."
