In the first two games against Tampa Bay, the Rangers have truly been relentless against the fastball. Whether it's a 3-0 count or a full count, they have seemingly been ready for the fastball at all times. And it's going to be up to the Rays' pitching staff to toss a few more wrinkles in their direction if they are going to survive this series. Also of interest on Thursday was Carl Pavano's effort against the Yankees. Like Francisco Liriano, Pavano started off well but eventually folded under the pressure of the Yankee offense. In his case, he may have just been outgunned.
