CHESTER, Pa. -- U.S. national team coach Bob Bradley said here on Monday that his goal was to get defender Oguchi Onyewu 90 minutes of action during the side's friendlies against Poland (last Saturday) and Colombia (8 PM ET, ESPN2). He'll get that and more. After going the distance in the 2-2 tie against Poland and scoring the second goal, Onyewu will start again against Colombia at PPL Park and will wear the captain's armband. It's the first time the 28-year-old will lead the national team, and surely is a reward from Bradley for his perseverance through injury, rehabilitation and disappointments at the World Cup and with AC Milan.
