Tight end Owen Daniels can't remember feeling this good. And as Houston Texans' Head Coach Gary Kubiak sees it, that's a positive development for the rest of the 2010 NFL season.
Daniels, who sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament last November, returned to the lineup in the Texans' regular-season opener against the Indianapolis Colts. The Texans didn't get a whole lot of good news in a loss to the Giants last week, but Daniels did get a bit.
His knee felt good. Very, very good.
"It feels a lot better," said Daniels, a 2008 Pro Bowl selection who was having his best statistical season last season before he was injured on November 1. "It feels like more of my old self. This past weekend seems like the best I've felt since forever as far as I can remember. So, hopefully I can keep everything clean and keep filling good."
While Daniels played each of the first five games, he seems to have made significant progress in recent weeks. He did not appear on the injury report this week, the first time that has been the case this season, and in the first four games of the season, he had just 68 yards receiving.
