DAVIE, Fla. -- So the Miami Dolphins finally pull off a critical win at home and instead of being able to celebrate and pump up talk of a playoff run they are left to deal with a lengthy day-after injury report. And their next game is just four days away as they host the Chicago bears on Thursday night at Sun Life Stadium. In addition to both of their top two quarterbacks -- Chad Pennington and Chad Henne -- leaving Sunday's 29-17 over Tennessee with serious injuries to their right throwing shoulder and left knee, respectively, it is being reported that the man responsible for protecting their blind side, Pro Bowl left tackle Jake Long, may have dislocated his shoulder. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald posted a full update Monday morning on his Dolphins In Depth Blog.
Long already had been battling a knee injury suffered in the final preseason game at Dallas that he has been able to fight through, and was scheduled to have an MRI on his shoulder Monday morning to determine the extent of the damage to his shoulder. If there is no structural or nerve damage then it is quite possible the first overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft can still line up and play through the pain, but it won't be easy.
