Canucks' Defense Corps Finally Getting Healthy Again

Filed under:

VANCOUVER - Dan Hamhuis and Cody Hodgson are back, and Keith Ballard looks ready to play again soon, too.

In other words, some of the injury pressures that the Vancouver Canucks have felt in the past fortnight are starting to ease.

Hamhuis, out since Feb. 9 with a concussion, will play Tuesday night as the Canucks host the Montreal Canadiens.

"I was a bit surprised on how quickly things moved along, but I'm certainly happy about it," said Hamhuis, who was sidelined by a controversial blindside hit courtesy of Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf.

Hodgson is also likely to be in the Canucks lineup after being recalled Monday from Manitoba of the AHL. He took the roster spot of defenseman Evan Oberg, who was returned to Manitoba after appearing in two games.
