Maria Sharapova has agreed to a five-year contract with HEAD rackets and will officially start endorsing the product this week in Auckland, according to Matthew Cronin of tennisreporters.net.Sharapova, who spent her professional career using Prince rackets up until last year, played using a blacked-out frame at times in 2010.
Sharapova's new deal with HEAD is reportedly worth around $2 million a year, similar to what she was earning with Prince. She will be offered her own line of rackets by HEAD, including junior rackets.
The 23-year-old Russian is changing her schedule up this season by playing in an official WTA tournament prior to the Australian Open. The former world No. 1 begins her season this week at the ASB Classic in Auckland.
