Hideki Okajima is officially back with the Red Sox, as the team announced Monday a one-year deal with the veteran reliever.Word emerged Dec. 31 that Okajima was likely to return, even though the Red Sox non-tendered him earlier in the month. That non-tender essentially allowed the Red Sox to cut Okajima's pay from the $2.75 million he made last season to the $1.75 million ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reported the pitcher will be guaranteed in 2011.
Incentives could boost his pay to $2.3 million this year, and the contract stipulates Okajima will be a free agent again next winter (otherwise, he would have been arbitration-eligible again).
