The Phoenix Suns were dealt a bit of bad news earlier this week when they learned that rookie forward Gani Lawal would miss the rest of the season leaving them with just 12 healthy players -- especially when one of which, Garret Siler, is playing in the NBA D-League with the Iowa Energy. The Suns are apparently looking to add to their roster, however, as they will host four players with D-League ties today when they bring in Blake Ahearn, Garrett Temple, Sundiata Gaines and Zabian Dowdell for a tryout for a likely 10-day contract. 10-day contracts first became available on Wednesday.
The D-League's Erie BayHawks are well-represented with both Temple and Ahearn, a fact not surprising considering that new Suns Director of Player Personnel, John Treloar, was the head coach of the BayHawks last season and traded for Ahearn mid-season. Treloar also coached against Dowdell and Gaines last season.
